I was experimenting with a new style of writing. When I dont give you a conclusion/direction. I give you the facts that make you come to the conclusion I point to. I think this is more powerful as a reader when you come to a conclusion you are more likely to change your course of action.

Re: Experience or potential

Does it really have to be either or?. It can also be a combination of someone who has done things in the past but still has the potential to be creative for future innovations. I would think most hiring managers(depending on the role) and given a choice would want both.

Re: 5 Ways to Overcome Resistance to Your Creative Endeavors

Poorvaja, Thanks for your comment. A combination of long international travels, good food at home and slacking off at exercise is the reason. I am working on getting it off and the whole story is probably worth a large article or may be a book :)

Re: About

dude, you have gained your weight back??

Re: Reinventing education

'No grades' is indeed a bit counter intuitive. The essence of what I was trying to say there is that 1) Grades dont reflect true learning i.e., we are measuring the wrong thing or something that we cannot measure 2) They create artificial walls both in the mind and outside which is unproductive. e.g., A kid thinks hey I got a C in math , I must be really bad at math and then starts to think I will never be good at Math so let me not try.

There might be a time/place for grades but it should not be universally used as a yardstick in all classes.

Yes the no curriculum part would work better after high school in my opinion.

Re: Reinventing education

Good ideas! I agree with many of them. But as a practitioner of "you succeed at what you measure", I am a bit apprehensive about No Grades. I am also a big proponent of "foundational learning", so No curriculum should kick in after a certain grade level.

Re: Beating drums

YES SoC business has long product cycles and diverse competition. The trend to announce early has only accelerated in the recent years in this space when new entrants to the business have tried to grab some market share / customers with such an approach

Re: Beating drums

Hmm all makes sense! It just felt slow in some manner! Like with Intel (as much as they're way ahead) you hear maybe 2-3 years earlier about Sandy Bridge and then bam its out! In the cellphone world the same 3 years seem so long! Like OMAP5, seemed so awesome when I read about it in 2010/2011 - can't remember... and then we'll only see it in products in 2013 probably!
I guess its one of those things that we have to live with if we are up to date with the news!

Re: Adding Value!

Team competition is the best kind of competition.

As in, when the Dallas Mavericks showed everyone last year how that works. ;)

Re: My life with a smartphone - 2011 edition

Nice! :)

Re: My life with a smartphone - 2011 edition

Good one :)

Re: Smartphone device innovation – An opportunity up for grabs

Yes - power is certainly a very important area. Most consumers have been spoilt by the Intel power laptop performance which gives about 4-5 hrs on a single charge with a giant battery. They have somehow come to be very comfortable with mobile devices running for just 1 day on a single charge.

However, this is changing really fast. With ARM based laptops around the corner in 2011-12 that can deliver 7-10 days or typical usage on a giant battery (think intel class). People will demand more more their mobile devices interns on power efficiency. Pushing the device manufacturers and SoC vendors to deliver on it.

There are certainly exciting things in this area to come in the next couple of years.

Re: Smartphone device innovation – An opportunity up for grabs

Your four potential drivers are certainly key, but I see a possible disruption oriented around power efficiencies too. Get a mobile computer to go 2 days or more without a recharge, under normal use, and you&#39re finally going to push consumers away from their desktops. When they need a big screen, they&#39ll use their flat screen TV or home media server monitor.

I know TI is doing some cool work there, too. ;)

http://tabulacrypticum.wordpress.com/2010/07/06/the-mobile-arms-race/

Re: Adding Value!

Hi Jayabharath,

Nice way to approach everything in life.

Cheers,
Shree Harsha Maiya

Re: The Power of ‘Open’ Innovation

But the very freedom is perceived as a geeks OS ! so when you should allow the enthusiasts to explore and contribute it should also be a moron easy :) ... but anyways luv my ubuntu...

Re: The uninvited guest

Depending on the store, the sales people can get fired for not doing just that: following you around the store. When I worked at CompUSA last summer, if we weren't helping someone already, we should be within 2 aisles of a customer so that if they had any questions, we would be 'readily available'. Not that any of the sales people wanted to do so, but we'd actually get written up if we didn't.

Re: Nokia N900 – My First Impressions

I am just a great Fan of N900 and I think it's one of the best handset device from nokia with features covering all the multimedia and all the latest connectivity features.

A bundle of things packed into one...just Superb !!
